This week we head away on holiday down south.

I am taking the opportunity to do make a bunch of field recordings.  

Over the weekend I have have been testing different microphone set ups around the house.  Trying to work out battery life of different devices, record times to memory card, power failure results, etc.

The goal for the trip is to capture some long multi channel recordings of beaches.

The MONO RAVE is a physical and sonic monolith to rave culture. A sound system installation designed for the Lyttelton Winter Street Party. The MONO RAVE exists as one part of multiple areas, stalls and happenings in a carnival atmosphere. The installation will provide Dj’s playing rave music for the duration of the street party. The sound system is built into a single stack of speakers. The Dj is presented directly in front of the speaker stack creating an image of the DJ and the sound system as one integrated entity. The Dj uses the speaker stack as both their monitor and output. Night time deployment of the clock radios ’ these were put where ever there was power and tuned into the Radio Freedom broadcast.
